Sharing vulva diversity since 2006!
This gallery is dedicated to vulva, vagina, clitoris etc artworks your have created yourself. The Great Wall of Vagina Vulva! really started a movement, inspiring people for over a decade to take up making vulva art. We thought it would be fun for you to share yours here. Whether you are a professional, amateur, student or total a beginner we would love you to participate.
There are so many talented artists, art activists and craftivists out there making really cool stuff. This site gets so much traffic from vulva art fans that it seems like a cool idea to let you promote your work here too 🙂 Rather than creating these artworks, Jamie is curating them into this gallery so you can take part and share your work from anywhere in the world!
If you are a professional feel free to promote your work. If you’re an amateur we hope this website has inspired you to just have a go and try it out yourself. You can sketch, draw, paint, print, embroider, crochet, felt, collage or whatever. It’s your vulva. It’s your art. So grab your materials and get busy. We look forward to seeing your work but lets be sensible and limit to three images per person so nobody dominates!
Your participation can be completely anonymous so nobody will know it’s your art unless you prefer to add a name and/or a comment and a link to your website.
Vagina Throne #4 - October 2022
Israel
The Vagina Throne art project is the result of artist Alisa Sokolov's reworking of her personal experience with gender chauvinism in Israel in 2021.
74 soft sculptures in the shape of vaginas symbolize women from all over the world. Installed on a wooden base from an antique chair-throne with armrests, they actualize the discussion about the role of women in the modern world, about the objectification of women etc.
Initially, the image of vulva played the role of a symbol and the artist planned to make all the sculptures minimalistic and of the same shape.
But during the research for the project, Alisa Sokolov felt the need to express herself artistically about the idea of plastic surgery clinics to change the shape of the vagina for aesthetic purposes, the problem of accepting one's own body by girls and women with the lack of self-confidence.
The creation process which took over 200 working hours is very painstaking, a lot of hand work on sewing, sculpting, upholstery of an antique chair, etc.
The clitoris made by natural freshwater pearls underlining the message that we should appreciate the shape of every vagina as uniqueness, diversity and beauty created by nature.
All the sculptures are unique and reflect the artist's position on the beauty of all women kinds, with all colors and shapes of vaginas, clitoris and the labia.
Mixed media, hand sewing, hand sculpturing, antique chair repairing and upholstery.
Fabric of twelve colors, natural freshwater pearls, synthepone, decorative braid, glue, thread, aluminum mesh, antique chair with armrests in Victorian style.
